7 Great Tips to Organize Your Kitchen

If you are like me, then you are in after Christmas clean out mode! I am talking moving furniture to vacuum behind it, scrubbing baseboards, and dusting ceiling fans. Well after this major clean, I have decided my kitchen needs a little organization. Specifically consistent and NOT expensive organization. So keep reading for some great organizational tips and links to several of the products I purchased myself!

Tips for Organizing Your Pantry

  1. Use chip clips and command hooks to hang your chips on inside of pantry door.
  2. Under cabinet baskets are amazing to add extra storage without taking up a lot of space.
  3. Lazy Susan! Every pantry needs several of these. No more moving 15 things to find the olive oil.
  4. Glass containers to hold your flour, sugar, and pasta. Wide mouth jars are easier to reach in with a measuring cup and simply pretty.
  5. Long slim baskets to organize snacks.
  6. Command hooks to hang small boxes on, such as sandwich baggies.
  7. Group like items together.
  8. Lastly, CLEAN IT OUT. If you haven’t needed it in 6 months, then donate to a food pantry. Or if it’s outdated then throw it away!

Tips for Organizing Under the Kitchen Sink

  1. Make use of every space.
  2. Command hooks are perfect for hanging your duster on or cleaning brushes
  3. Magazine holders work to store your long slim boxes
  4. Use wire baskets or even plastic baskets to group like items together. This also makes it easy when it comes time to clean. Just pull out the basket the cleaning supplies and you are ready to take each room.
  5. Lazy Susan’s also work great under the sink to organize cleaning supplies.
  6. For cleaning “closets” use a shoe hanger and over the door organizers to create more space.

Tips for Organizing the Pots and Pans

  1. Wire rack dividers are perfect for all the cookie sheets and baking pans
  2. Wire shelf risers add a second shelf for plates and cups.
  3. Hang hooks in the inner door of cabinet to hang small pans and/or cooking utensils.
  4. Make use of the inside doors to hang small objects. Such as your measuring spoons. Check out the cute idea above in photo. Use a chalk pen to even write conversions on inside door.

Tips for Organizing the Fridge and Freezer

  1. First clean it out! If you have pickles from 2017 then get rid of them.
  2. Line the shelves with glad press and seal. That way when it gets dirty you can just peal the press and seal off and replace. No taking apart the fridge to clean the inside out.
  3. Keep an open box of baking soda in fridge to keep it fresh smelling.
  4. Use clear long plastic containers to group like things together.
  5. Use plastic baskets in veggie draw to separate veggies.
  6. Soup can holders are the perfect thing to put your canned drinks in.
  7. Use under the shelf organizers for things like wine.

How to Keep everything Organized and Clean!

  1. Limit what is out on the counter. Use a lazy Susan to put things you use daily on. It will take up less space and is simply pretty.
  2. An over the sink organizer is perfect for soaps, hand washes, and lotions.
  3. Before making your weekly trip to the grocery store, clean out fridge and pantry.
  4. Put it back where you got it from! If you spend a lot of time organizing the pots and pans then utilize it.
  5. Set a cleaning schedule for those tedious tasks like wiping on top of the fridge (which is a great place for baskets to store all those little things you do not use daily).
Simply Put

Invest a little time and not a lot of money to organize your space. The kitchen is the heart of the home for most people. Keeping it clean and organize makes meal prepping and cooking so much easier! Check out this great post from HGTV for more inspiring ideas!
