7 Great Tips for an Awesome Motivational Monday
You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.Martin Luther King
Today’s motivational Monday is going to include tips on how to stay positive. It is hard. I know. I remember my mom saying, “If you don’t have something nice to say don’t say nothing at all”. Or her telling me to turn the other cheek when someone was being mean because the bible says so. Well, notoriously no one likes Monday because it is the first day back to work after a weekend, the weekend felt too short, etc. I could go into this long post about how to be thankful that you have a job or that you woke up alive on this awesome Monday morning. However, I really want to talk about ways to squash that negative attitude some of us get on Monday. But in all honesty, tips to stay positive in any negative situation.
- Is it worth getting upset over?
- What is the positive you can find in the situation?
- Ask yourself, are you overthinking the situation?
- Can you control the situation?
- Can this make you a better person?
- Avoid gossip.
- Just know not everyone is your friend.
Motivational Monday, as you can see some of, or most of these are tips, in general, are to help when you are in a negative situation. I am using the Monday blues as an example.
Is it worth getting upset over? No, it’s not. Regardless we are going to have a Monday every 7 days. Might as well find the positive for Monday instead. Which leads me into my next tip.
Are you overthinking it? Most likely yes. I mean how bad can Monday really be. Was your job invaded by little martian men over the weekend that came and broke all your pencils, crashed your computer or put everyone in the unit on isolation? Probably not. People, it’s just another day.
Can you control the situation? Well, I guess you could hop on a time traveler and go back to whenever B.C. and attempt to change the calendar to skip Monday. While you are there, please do something about this daylight savings things.
Can this make you a better person? You never know! That Monday you are currently dreading might be the day you go in with a smile on your face and get a raise.
Avoid gossip! I feel like I should highlight and bold this. My dear readers, if they are gossiping with you then 100%, they are gossiping about you. Just don’t do it!
And lastly, just know that not everyone at work is your friend. And that is ok. It is nice to have a work friend and sometimes those turn into real friends. But if that does not happen, it is not the end of the world. You are there to do a job. Be cordial. Be respectful. And do not buy into the local Monday bullshit!
I read a lot of blogs; for inspiration, to support fellow bloggers, etc. I found this great blog that included several inspiration stories. Click the link and show them some support as well!
